Screen Free Saturday Thoughts from Heidi - Part #5

For our latest Screen Free Saturday adventure, my husband and I ventured to Osceola, WI to see and hike around the Cascade Falls. If you have never been to Osceola, it is a quiet, little town – it has a main street, mom and pop shops, and the hidden treasure that brought us there, the Cascade Falls! Not only can you see the falls, but you can feel them too! We were able to safely get close enough to feel the drops of water as the water fell to the ground (unlike Gooseberry Falls). We set off not only to see the falls, but also do some hiking. There are three different hikes ranging from easy to difficult and various lengths, depending how much time you have to hike.  On our hike, I spotted three smaller falls along our way! This hike only fed our desire to be more adventurous and see other unique, places nearby, such as Taylors Falls. So we got in the car, drove back to MN and 15 minutes north to Taylors Falls. Did you know there aren’t any actual falls at Taylors Falls?! They do have glacial potholes that are large and make you feel oh so small. If you continue just a little into town, as we did, you’ll stumble upon a retro 50’s drive – in dinner where they serve you in their 50’s attire in your car! While waiting for your meal (or after the kids have finished their lunch), be sure to stop over next to the  adventure mini – golf next door (Tip: Kids (or adults 😊) can golf 2 for the price of 1, just make sure to ask your waitress for a coupon). After all our hiking, driving, some eating, and playing mini – golf, we were exhausted and ready to head home for a nap! This by far was probably my favorite screen – free Saturday!
